Asbestos

Asbestos was extensively used as a building material in the UK. It was used for a variety of purposes and was ideal for fireproofing and insulation. Any building built before 2000 (houses, factories, offices, schools, hospitals etc) can contain asbestos. Asbestos materials in good condition are safe unless asbestos fibers become airborne, which happens when materials are damaged.

“14 million properties were built during the period Asbestos was extensively used”

Fire Risk

The Fire Safety Order (FSO) applies to all non-domestic premises in England and Wales. The Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 came into effect in October 2006 replacing over 70 pieces of fire safety law. The order applies to common parts of blocks of flats and houses in multiple occupation (HMOs).

“There are approximately 59,000 house fires each year in the UK”

Health & Safety

Health and Safety is now a fundamental part of any organisation and with the legislation becoming more difficult to navigate through. We aim to offer a cost effective solution while trying to keep things as simple as possible so you can get on with what makes you successful...your business.

“5.2 million days were lost overall in 2012/13 due to work-related injury due to lack of safety in the workplace”

Legionella

It is the responsibility of the statutory duty holder to ensure a legionella risk assessment is undertaken, and, that there is a suitable legionella control regime in place. Here at Salvum we can help you with this.

“Legionnaires disease, if left untreated, it can lead to severe complications and, in some cases, be fatal”
